The first episode of the 2010 has arrived, somewhat delayed having been snowed in and missing the first Lantern Society of the year, but episode 28 is now on the wire, and worth the wait it was.
Episode 28 recorded on 21.1.10 features live performances by (soon to be Lantern Players on the road) Benjamin Thomas and Jack Day. We hear Hankdog, Henry Dingle, Sally Brinkworth and Marcia Mello all the way from Nashvile US of A. Danny George Wilson gives us the title track from the new Champions of the World Album (OUT NOW!!) and the Lantern welcomes it's first Mercury and Brit award nominee Tom McRae to the hallowed stage. And last, and by all means least, the hosts do a number with a little help from the Lantern Players.
Want to join us on the road? Well click the poster opposite to buy a ticket, and you can also follow our new twitter (click the little birdy at the bottom of the page). Myself, Hannah-Lou, Ben, Pepe and Jack will all be regularly 'tweeting' the goings on, the weird and wonderful sights of Dilton Marsh, Hambledon, Egerton, Evershot, Freshwater, Wytham and Quorn. See how I fare spending long hours in the car with Benjamin Thomas, and see who is victorious, and how many times the board is thrown across the village hall, in mine and Jack Day's chess challenge.

TM&HL JOIN THE BOARD. RADIO HOUR23.
We we're honoured, and a little suprised to be invited to be commitee members for the Camden Crawl 2010, representing folk, country and roots music at the festival. Anyone who's ever been will know that it is a mamoth operation, defining the music of the capital, however our particular genre may have been under-represented in the past. TM&HL to the rescue! The festival planning is well under way, fellow commitee members ranging from us humble folk to Nihal off the 'real' radio, and by sheer coincidence Loose Music founder Tom Bridgewater, so we are very excited indeed to be involved. If you're dying to see a particular folk, country or roots act at this years Crawl do contact us.
Episode 23, now on the 'air', recorded on 15.10.09 features our esteemed friend Andy Hankdog's 'Lantern Lotto' approach to hosting, as well as lending us his chaotic words of wisdom alongside our landlord Raz, and performing a death defying circus stage show. Tonight sees performances by Jack Day and Sunnie Dae, and London's Finest Blues Club gets down and dirty with Gary Smith, Gabriel Mesh, and debutante, Lane. Newcomers John Aldington and Hattie Longfield impress, the latter being the subject of our competition time, and Irene Anderson does a 'van the man' in the way only she can. We also pluck a rare Tom Farrer track from the record collection and dwell momentarily upon the tragedy of gems gathering dust.
We're playing a very special show this monday at the Slaughtered Lamb alongside the Lost Brothers, not to be missed.

18TH DECEMBER 2008.
MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL
Seasons greetings everyone.
What a difference a year makes. As we prepare to see in our first festive season and begin our first brand new year as man and wife, and duet, we are within touching distance of completing our new record. It's taking its time, but fear not for we have only done four days, and all of your favourite TM & HL songs are in the can, recorded live, it's just time for a little seasonal fairy dust. Many thanks to Romeo and Danny for their tireless support (we've been doing nights) and wizardry. If we don't say so ourselves it's turning out to be a masterful record, not least due to the help of those stunning boys.
We are doing a special extended show tonight at the Prince of Wales, in Iffley, Oxford. It's the last one of the year, and despite the equally seasonal coughs and colds we are looking forward to rounding off a wonderful year of new beginnings.
Merry christmas everyone. See you in 2009. It's going to be emotional.
best wishes
Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou.xx

7TH NOVEMBER. NEW BEGINNINGS.
Bleary eyed and joyous is this morning. Relief, new confidence and with renewed belief is how the World wakes up. Beside life's most momentus milestones it is all too easy to find oneself reacting against the repetative barrage of epic statement and almost gratuitous positivity. However, all this serves to achieve is to pass what are truely special moments worth lingering over and reflecting upon by. Especially as the road ahead is long and bumpy, and a quick stop for a cup of tea is never a chore.
My new wife and I stayed up all night, as you can probably ascertain from my hightened sense of woosy romance, not on marital duties but observing the onfolding story of not only the now most famous basketball player in the World opposite, but also of the most powerful and most irritating nation on Earth. A mere adolsecent nation hopefully now coming of age, and being given a key to the door. To you all I salute a job well done.
Hannah-Lou and I returned from our honeymoon in a log cabin in Finland and the beautiful medievel city of Tallinn, Estonia, on saturday morning. Rejuvinated by our time and our new union, it's now with excitement back to work. The album is to be finished this week, the Lantern Society is back this thursday, having never gone away, and The Champions of the World are hitting the road in two weeks, kicking off the 'Still Believe' Tour in Oxford on Tuesday 18th November. With additional members in the form of Hankdog, Jason McNiff and Pete Greenwood. See shows page for where to catch the travelling circus Champs in a town near you.
To the future
Best wishes and prosperity

6TH OCTOBER 2008. THE FANTASTIC FOUR.
Well, here we are. Two intrepid explorers on the brink. The sirens: illness, tragedy and circumstance have not dampened our spirits but stoked the fires and, finally, against implausible odds the tape is rolling.
Although not at Toe-Rag, appologies my analogue fanciers, this week will see a few days of live recording at fellow Champion of the World, and he's also in a band called the Magic Numbers I think, Romeo's Studio, somewhere in North London, with himself and Danny George Wilson at the controls.
Must fly.
We're playing at Dingwalls this week, Thursday 9th to be precise (buy tickets via the link at the top of the page) in support of Pete Molinari and Band. Will be a corker, and our album should be done too, so come see how fried we are.
Best wishes and prosperity

1 SEPTEMBER 2008. DOUBLEPLUSGOOD
Thanks to everyone who took a stand against the culture crunch and turned out in their droves to the 100 Club last month. it was a really special night for us seeing so many familar fond faces in the crowd.
Unfortunately due to scheduling complications the recording of the now ridiculously over antisipated debut Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou record has yet again been postponed. We are exploring alternative studios in which to make the album so as to cook this biscuit a soon as possible.
The Lantern Society, the last bastian of health and worthiness has descended into a fortnightly debaucherous romp 'til dawn. Our good ship Lantern has become a woman of disrepute, and she now welcomes allcomers come and have a play and stay the night every 1st and 3rd thursday of the month. How could you refuse.
The 'Our New, Happy Life' session recorded at Andy Hankdog's subterranean lair is now on the site. This was our last preproduction session for the album, so have a listen to see how things are shaping up.
Regards,
Trevor Moss & Hannah-Lou.

1ST JULY 2008. INFLUENZA!! INFLUENZA!!
Our long awaited new album is awaiting even longer as the dreaded and seemingly inevitable bug has hit us. Liam and ourselves are patiently now waiting until the 18th August for recording to commence.
In the meantime we will be stoking the fire and burning the midnight oil at the Lantern Society, which this month in additon to the 1st and 3rd thursday of the month at the Betsey Trotwood, will see the first lantern outpost at the Queens Arms,Egerton Forstal, Kent. We've got all the lantern favourites coming down (see shows page posters for more details), and it's shaping up to be unmissable.
Thanks to everyone who made us feel very welcome at the Wild West Country show last saturday, we were overwhelmed by the hosptiality and enthusiasm showed by everyone, our hosts and the audience, and we very much hope to be back next year if not much much sooner.

8th JUNE 2008. NEW WEBSITE LANUNCHED!! RECORD ON ITS WAY!!
Hello everyone, and welcome to our brand new website, launched today!!
We are all set to record our debut duet record. Recording begins the week of the 16th June, and shall be taking place at London's famous Toe-Rag Studios, with of course none other than Mr. Liam Watson in the driving seat.
Preproduction is reaching its final stages now, and a track listing will be available as soon as we've decided it. Those of you who know us will understand given how prolific we are how difficult it has been to select the album from the some 50 songs you've heard us play live over the last few months, so if we've left out any of your favourites we apologise, give us a heckle and we'll happily oblige to play whatever you wish.
We've got a few exciting shows coming up, see the SHOWS page for details, and you can also catch us as CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD, with Danny George Wilson over the summer. See the links page for his site.
Its good to be back.
best wishes, Trevor Moss and Hannah-Lou. x
